Maha Shivratri celebrated with religious fervour across Rajouri, Poonch districts
Rajouri, Mar 8: The religious festival of Mahashivratri was celebrated with religious fervour today across Rajouri and Poonch districts.
Thousands of people attended the religious festivals organised in temples especially the Shiv Temples.
Special prayers for peace and happiness were organised during the events wherein religious preachers and delivered sermons on teachings of religions besides historical importance of the festival of Mahashivratri.
At Thakur Dwara temple in Nowshera, people from across the sub division participated in the event that started on Friday morning and will conclude on Saturday morning.
The representatives of temple management Committee informed that prayer started on Friday morning with special prayers designated for Mahashivratri will be performed in four different phases in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
Similarly at, ancient Shiv Parivar Cave in Mankote village of Rajouri, hundreds of people joined the “Haavan” organised by the cave commitee wherein people prayed for peace and stability.
In Poonch district also, special religious events marking Maha Shivratri were organised in Shiv temples and ancient caves.
The police and other security forces had also made elaborates security arrangements for smooth and peaceful conduct of religious events.
