Doda, Feb 27: In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, Zonal and Sectoral Magistrates were imparted training under the supervision of District Election Officer Harvinder Singh. The training aimed to equip the officials with all necessary knowledge and skills to effectively carry out their duties during the electoral process.

Interacting with the participants, Deputy District Election Officer Om Prakash Bhagat focused on a range of issues like distribution centres for 3 Assembly constituencies, distance between polling stations and distribution centres, proper arrangements in polling stations. He directed the Zonal/Sectoral Magistrates to visit the polling stations after allocation and check AMF & basic minimum arrangements there.

The training covered a wide range of topics, including election laws, procedures, and protocols that needed to be followed during polling. The zonal/sectoral Magistrates were briefed on their role and responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of maintaining law and order, overseeing polling stations, and ensuring the safety and security of voters.

Dr Akhter Hussain Assistant Prof. GDC Bhaderwah, District level Master Trainer (DLMT) imparted a detailed training related to use of EVM machines, working and counting of votes. Officials stressed the significance of impartiality, transparency, and strict adherence to the election code of conduct. The training session also focused on equipping the Magistrates with the skills to handle any potential issues or challenges that may arise on Election Day.

The 2nd training of Zonal/Sectoral Magistrates will be conducted after the allocation of their Jurisdiction of Polling Stations.
