Madina Colony inhabitants demand repair of drainage system
Srinagar, Mar 20: Residents of Madina Colony Lane 4, Rangapora have voiced their concerns over a deteriorating drainage system that has caused significant inconvenience for households in the area.
The locals have appealed Commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), detailing the challenges faced due to the system's partial functionality. Residents said that the drainage infrastructure was developed over a decade ago but has since fallen into disrepair, leading to acute problems for many families. Despite multiple appeals to local authorities, residents indicate that their efforts to seek assistance have not yielded results.
“Although we have brought this issue to the notice of relevant authorities, no effective action has been taken,” they said. Residents are urging immediate attention to the matter, stressing that proper drainage is essential for public health and sanitation.
Inhabitants are calling on the SMC to prioritize repairs, with the hope that the commissioner will direct the responsible departments to address the situation as quickly as possible.
