Lucknow now yielding gold: Yogi Adityanath
Lucknow, Oct 18: “Lucknow’s land is now yielding gold – ensuring national security while driving prosperity,” Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Saturday, as he and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh flagged off the first batch of BrahMos supersonic missiles produced at the Lucknow unit of BrahMos Aerospace Limited.
Calling it a proud moment for India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat journey, Yogi hailed the project as a milestone in defence manufacturing and youth employment.
He said the BrahMos unit, realised through the efforts of Rajnath Singh, has transformed Lucknow into a hub of defence, industry, and innovation while fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ vision. The Chief Minister highlighted that the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor—spanning Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Aligarh, Jhansi, and Chitrakoot, is rapidly emerging as a national defence powerhouse, generating jobs for thousands of youth. He added that the BrahMos facility employs ITI, polytechnic, and engineering graduates, aligning state development with national security. “BrahMos has become a symbol of strength and prosperity,” Yogi said, assuring full state support for future defence projects.
