Lt Gen Sachdeva takes over as GOC White Knight Corps   

Asks all ranks to remain combatready always to thwart adversaries' nefarious designs

Nagrota, Jan 1: Lieutenant General Navin Sachdeva Monday took over as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the army’s elite White Knight Corps or 16 Corps.

After assuming charge, Lt Gen Sachdeva asked all ranks to always remain combat-ready to thwart the nefarious designs of adversaries and inimical forces while being in complete synergy with civil administration and paramilitary forces, a defence spokesperson said.

A recipient of Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) and Seva Medal (SM), Lt Gen Sachdeva has succeeded Lt Gen Sandeep Jain, SM.

A defence spokesperson said, “Lt Gen Sachdeva has conveyed that it is an honour to take over the command of an elite formation which has a rich history in Jammu and Kashmir.”

He paid rich tributes to the brave-hearts, veterans and families of the past for their contribution and exhorted all ranks to continue working with utmost zeal and enthusiasm. GOC extended his warm greetings to all soldiers, their families, veterans and people on the auspicious occasion of new year, the spokesperson said.

“GOC assured the Indian army’s commitment towards people for their upliftment and progression in all spheres,” spokesperson said.
