Lt Gen M V Suchindra Kumar reviews Kashmir security situation

Srinagar, Sep 01: The Army Commander of the Northern Command, Lt Gen M V Suchindra Kumar Sunday visited the headquarters of the 15 Corps and held a comprehensive review of the prevailing security situation and the recent operations undertaken by the Army in the Valley.

During his visit, Lt Gen Kumar was extensively briefed by senior officers of the 15 Corps on various aspects of operational preparedness, including the ongoing efforts to strengthen soldier-citizen connect, a critical component of the Army's outreach in Jammu and Kashmir.

The briefing also covered recent counter-insurgency operations, surveillance measures along the Line of Control (LoC), and the overall security dynamics in the hinterland.

The Northern Army Commander expressed his appreciation for the high level of professionalism displayed by the troops, acknowledging their relentless efforts to maintain peace and security.

He lauded the successful conduct of recent operations that have significantly contributed to the stability of the region.

The visit by the Army Commander comes at a time when the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir remains a focal point of attention in the backdrop of upcoming assembly elections.

The 15 Corps, also known as the Chinar Corps, is responsible for security in the Kashmir Valley and along the LoC in this sector.

The 15 Corps has been at the forefront of the Army's counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations.
