Srinagar, Jan 15: A low intensity earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale struck Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday evening, triggering tremors in several parts of the Kashmir Valley.
According to seismic data, the earthquake occurred at 7.10 pm IST, with its epicentre located about 19 kilometres west-northwest of Srinagar. The tremor was recorded at a depth of five kilometres, at latitude 34.13°N and longitude 74.59°E.

Residents in parts of Baramulla, Srinagar and adjoining areas reported feeling mild tremors. However, there were no immediate reports of loss of life or damage to property.
