Lodged in Tihar Jail, incarcerated J-K MP to go on hunger strike from tomorrow

Srinagar, Jan 30: Awami Itihad Party (AIP) chief, and MP North Kashmir Er Rashid who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail, will go on hunger strike from Friday to protest for not allowing him to attend the Parliament proceedings, which are scheduled to begin from January 31.

AIP vice president Advocate GN Shaheen, while addressing a press conference in Srinagar, as per news agency JKNS said that as the Parliament session begins, Er. Rashid remains incarcerated in Tihar Jail, and his interim bail hearing was scheduled for today.

"We have been informed that Er Rashid is going on a hunger strike from tomorrow in Tihar Jail. So, here in Jammu and Kashmir, we have also decided to go on a hunger strike to support our leader,” Shaheen said.
