Srinagar, May 12: Emergency, as well as regular paediatric care services in areas like Sonwar, Dalgate, Indira Nagar, Shivpora, Batwara, Nishat and rest, have been seriously impacted due to the shifting of GB Pant Hospital at Bemina.

According to locals from these areas, Bemina remains distant for kids developing serious medical issues during the night and only daily paediatric service at Kashmir Nursing Home, Sonwar could provide relief to such children in health distress.

“Kashmir Nursing Home is currently offering paediatric consultation but once a week which hardly suffices the growing medical complications of children in emergency requirements. We appeal to Secretary Health & Medical Education, Dr Abid Rasheed to intervene and provide immediate relief in the form of permanent placement of specialised paediatricians in Sonwar,” Muhammad Rafiq Mir, a Shivpora resident.

“By placement of paediatricians in Kashmir Nursing Home at Sonwar, the LG administration can provide relief to children belonging to half of Srinagar city from Harwan to Dalgate, Sonwar to Athwajan and Rajbagh to Padshahi Bagh,” said Mir, who has witnessed the rush and availability of doctors at Kashmir Nursing Home.
