Literary programme held in Sopore | Firaq Sopori's book released

Sopore, Nov 27: A one-day literary programme was held today at the auditorium of GHSS Boys Sopore, which was organised by Bazmi Shairu Adab North Kashmir.

During the event famous poet of north kashmir Firaq Sopori's book (Zaluni Zhom) was also released.

The whole event was held in two sessions.The first session was chaired by Professor Muhammad Abdullah Charoo and was formally started with the recitation of the Holy Quran which was performed by G M Zahid.

After that, Riyaz Rabbani presented Naat Sharief. Welcome speech was given by the President of Bazmi Shairu Adab north Kashmir, Yuosuf Samim.

He requested the government to build a full-fledged cultural hall in Sopore on the pattern of Sherwani community Hall in Baramulla town. Following that Firaq Sopori's book (Zaluni Zhom) release ceremony was held.

A mushaira was held in the second session. It was presided over by Shahnaz Rashid, Fayyaz Tilgami,  Shabir Ahmad Shabir and Khaliq Shams.

At the end of the event, Mushtaq Ahmed Rather, the Principal of Government Boys Higher Secondary School Sopore, thanked the guests, poets, writers and print media, who spent their time to make this event successful. He also assured to organise such literary programmes in future.
