Literary event held in Pulwama
Srinagar, Nov 11: In a significant literary gathering held at Pulwama, a book release function and Mushaira (poetry recital) were organised by the District Cultural Society Pulwama in collaboration with the Academy of Art, Culture, and Language Srinagar, at Degree College for Women.
The event presided over by Professor Shad Ramzan, former Head of Department of Kashmiri at the University of Kashmir, featured esteemed guests including Dr. Rafiq Masoodi, Syed Himayun Qaisar, Mohammed Amin Bhat, Meraj ud din Faraz, Chief Editor of the weekly Nidai e Kashmir, Ali Shayda, and the College Principal, Yasmeen Farooq.
The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Na'at e Pak. The highlighted work, "LUQMAI-E-HAYAT" by Ghulam Muhammad Wani (Dilshad), received commendation.
Dr. Rafiq Masoodi, former Secretary of Cultural Academy, expressed appreciation for Dilshad's literary contributions, emphasizing his humility and grace. The event also saw speakers acknowledging the literary prowess of South Kashmir, specifically Pulwama District and expressed pleasure in participating in an event that promotes the Kashmiri language. Mohammed Amin Bhat commended the society's efforts in literary activities.
Professor Shad Ramzan, in his presidential address, encouraged poets to collaborate and engage in more creative work. Ghulam Mohammad Dilshad expressed gratitude for the participation of cultural luminaries, acknowledging their inspiration.
Yasmeen Farooq, the College Principal, offered a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and emphasizing the importance of such educational and inspirational gatherings in the future.
