Light snowfall in higher reaches of Chenab valley

Ramban, Dec 27: Light snowfall occurred in higher reaches of Chenab Valley bringing an end to dry spell.

With a brief spell of light snowfall on some higher reaches and light rain at high and low altitude areas of Doda , Kishtwar and Ramban districts broke the prolonged dry spell.

Report said on Friday light snowfall occurred at Mahu, Mangit , Jawahar tunnel,Patnitop, Sanasar, Gool , Paddar, Bhadarwah.

Officials said light snowfall occurred at higher reaches and light snowfall occurred in almost all the areas of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts.

The delay in this session's rain and snowfall was worrying the locals, especially farmers across the district.

Reportedly all the areas of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban received light rainfall.

Locals have said prolonged dry spell has created water shortage in springs, streams.

The weather department has predicted more snow in higher reaches and rainfall in low lying areas of Chenab region on Saturday also.
