LIC's Bima Sakhi crosses 50,000 mark in registration
Srinagar, Jan 9: Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, launched LIC’s BIMA SAKHI Yojana in Panipat today.
The Bima Sakhi Yojana marks a significant step towards a Developed India (Viksit Bharat) through women empowerment, providing social security to families. LIC of India is proud to partner in this vision by empowering women as contributors to the nation’s progress, enabling them to become Bima Sakhis and achieve self-reliance.
The Bima Sakhi scheme has been met with remarkable enthusiasm across the country. One month post-launch, total registrations for Bima Sakhi have reached 52,511. Of these, 27,695 Bima Sakhis have been issued appointment letters to sell policies, and 14,583 Bima Sakhis have commenced selling policies.
On this occasion, Siddhartha Mohanty, CEO & MD of LIC, expressed ambitions to ensure at least one Bima Sakhi in every panchayat across the country within the next year. LIC is dedicated to strengthening the Bima Sakhi stream by equipping them with essential skills and robust digital tools. The scheme also offers the advantage of a monthly stipend for three years, in addition to the commissions earned on the business procured.
