LG’s security review meeting postponed; to be rescheduled

Jammu, Nov 23: The scheduled high-level meeting, to be chaired by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, to review the developmental and security scenario in the Jammu region with the Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) on Thursday was postponed.

“The meeting could not take place as per schedule as senior police officers including the Director General of Police R R Swain and Inspector General of Police Jammu zone Anand Jain were away in Rajouri where the fierce encounter was on. The meeting will be rescheduled,” official sources said.
Meanwhile, LG Sinha will attend the wreath-laying ceremony of army brave-hearts who made supreme sacrifice in the Rajouri encounter at 9.15 am at Military Hospital Jammu tomorrow. Army Commander, GOC 16 Corps and Director General of Police will accompany him.

Later the Lieutenant Lt Governor will be visiting Convention Centre Jammu in connection with the closing ceremony of Audit Week tomorrow at 11 am. He will also attend the closing ceremony of the 67th School National Games at the University of Jammu at noon.
