LG to chair security review meeting in Jammu today
Srinagar, Nov 22: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is scheduled to chair a high-level security and winter-preparedness meeting on Sunday.
The meeting will be attended by Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) from Jammu Division, along with top civil and police leadership.
Among the leading figures expected at the meeting are Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP Nalin Prabhat, Special DG (Coordination) S.J.M. Gillani, ADGP, CID Nitish Kumar, IG, Jammu Zone B.S. Tuti, besides other officers.
This will be a combined review of the security landscape, intelligence-sharing protocols, counter-terror operations, and administrative readiness for winter.
While LG had previously convened similar meetings in Kashmir, this meeting takes on added significance given recent developments.
The LG has repeatedly called for a “360-degree approach” to dismantling terror networks.
In past reviews, LG has insisted on adopting advanced policing methods. He has urged the use of tech-driven intelligence, real-time monitoring, and modern tools to counter evolving crime trends and “narco-terrorism.”
