LG pays homage to JKP cop, JAKLI soldier

Jammu, Dec 16: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid homage to the Special Operations Group (SOG) man from J&K Police Constable Amjid Ali Khan, who was killed in the line of duty during an encounter in Udhampur.

“I salute the supreme sacrifice of our J&K Police braveheart Constable Amjid Ali Khan. The nation shall remain forever grateful to his exemplary valour and selfless devotion to duty. We stand in solidarity with the bereaved family of our martyr in this difficult hour,” the LG said.

He also expressed grief over the passing away of Havildar Zubair Ahmad of the 13 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI), who was killed in the line of duty.

Havildar Zubair succumbed to injuries sustained during a road construction blast on December 15 at Putaha Khan Gali in the Trehgam area of Kupwara district.

“The nation is forever indebted to the selfless service and supreme sacrifice of Havildar Zubair Ahmad. He served with exemplary courage and commitment towards the nation. I convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of grief,” the LG said.
