LG chairs review meeting of I&C, Geology & Mining deptts
Jammu, Apr 18: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a review meeting of the Department of Industries and Commerce and the Department of Geology and Mining on Thursday.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion took place on investment proposals, implementation of projects, and schemes of the Department of Industries and Commerce.
The LG directed the senior officials to hold regular meetings with investors and industry bodies to address the crucial issues.
The chair was briefed on the steps taken for proper utilisation of land in existing Industrial Estates.
The LG also reviewed the progress achieved under the New Central Sector schemes, One District One Product, PMEGP, PM Vishwakarma, Ease of Doing Business, Gati Shakti, development of new industrial estates, Handloom and Handicrafts sector, development of Tattoo Ground, promotion of MSMEs, and activities of JKTPO. The LG stressed upon promotion of start-ups in J&K.
He instructed for impact assessment of various initiatives like GI tagging and QR code-based labelling and scanning.
The LG also reviewed district-wise availability, requirement of minor minerals, and issues related to time-bound operationalisation of minor mineral blocks. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo; Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Santosh D Vaidya; Principal Secretary to LG, Mandeep Kumar Bhandari; Commissioner Secretary, Department of I&C and Mining Department, Vikramjit Singh; Secretary, Public Works (R&B), Bhupinder Kumar; HoDs and senior officials.
