Jammu, June 10: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Monday chaired a high-level security review meeting with the officials of J&K Police and civil administration at the Police Headquarters in Jammu and said that those behind the attack on yatris in Reasi and those aiding and abetting them would be punished.

The LG posted on X: “Chaired a security review meeting with the officials of J&K Police and civil administration. I assure the people that those behind the attack on pilgrims in Reasi and those aiding and abetting them will be punished.”

The LG also approved an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh each for the Next of Kin (NoK) of yatris killed in the Reasi terror attack.

He also approved Rs 50,000 each for those injured.

“The injured are being treated at different hospitals. A control room has been created by the district administration to provide all necessary assistance. A joint security force temporary headquarters by J&K Police, Army, and CRPF has been set up at the site and operation is in progress to neutralise the perpetrators of the Reasi terror attack,” the LG said.

He also met the injured yatris who are undergoing treatment at Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital at Katra.

The LG posted on X: “Met the injured pilgrims at Government Medical College, Jammu and Narayana Hospital, Katra and wished them a speedy recovery. The entire nation stands firmly with the families of martyred pilgrims in this hour of grief.”

The team of doctors briefed the LG on the health condition of the injured and the medical facilities being extended to them.

The LG is closely monitoring the situation and has directed the district and hospital administration to ensure the best possible medical care and all necessary assistance to the affected families.
