LG chairs 35th University Council meeting of SKUAST- K

Srinagar, Oct 10: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired the 35th University Council meeting of SKUAST Kashmir at Raj Bhawan today.

The meeting was attended by Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lt Governor; Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary; Shailendra Kumar, Principal Secretary, Agriculture Production Department; Santosh D Vaidya, Principal Secretary, Finance Department; Dr Ashok Dalwai, former CEO of NRAA; Prof R C Agrawal, DDG of ICAR; Dr Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lt. Governor; Dr Nazir A Ganai, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST Kashmir; Dr B N Tripathi, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST Jammu; Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Secretary of Planning; Dr T H Masoodi, Registrar of SKUAST Kashmir; and other senior officers, both in person and via virtual mode.

The University Council discussed important policy matters and granted in-principle approvals to various agenda items for the overall development and administrative functioning of the University.

The Lt Governor emphasized the need for the University to establish its own Seed Centre to distribute quality seeds to farmers. He also advised the University to strengthen outreach programs to ensure that new innovations and technologies reach farmers. Dr Nazir A Ganai, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST Kashmir, presented various agenda items to the Council for approval and ratification.
