Jammu, Oct 6: Toyam Hyderabad outclassed Southern Superstars in all departments in the rain affected match on Saturday to register their first win in the season as they defeated Southern Superstars by 5 runs under DLS method at the Molana Azad Stadium in Jammu.

After losing the toss and put into bat first, George Worker and Chadwick Walton opened the innings for Toyam Hyderabad. The duo added 69 runs for the first wicket before Walton was dismissed for 40 from 29 balls. George Worker scored 28 from 26 balls. Shaun Marsh added 27 from 25 balls. Rikki Clarke made 25 from 29 balls. Towards the end, Bipul Sharma remained unbeaten on 10 from 3 balls.

For Southern Superstars, Pawan Negi (2/11) and Jeevan Mendis (2/26) took two wickets each. Chaturanga de Silva picked one wicket.

Chasing a target of 144 on the board, Martin Guptill and Shreevats Goswami opened the innings for Southern Superstars. They were down to 30/2 in 3.2 overs. Guptill made 14 from 11 balls and Goswami added 7 from 5 balls.

Hamilton Masakadza scored 17 from 7 balls. Pawan Negi remained not out on 19 from 18 balls. Jesal Karia made 28 from 30 balls. Southern Superstars were 98/6 after 14 overs when the game was stopped due to rain. As the match couldn't be continued, Toyam Hyderabad were declared the winner under DLS rule.

For Toyam Hyderabad, Bipul Sharma (2/13) and Shivakant Shukla (2/17) took two wickets each. Nuwan Pradeep and Rikki Clarke bagged one wicket each in the innings.
