Legal action initiated against ADGP Jammu Anand Jain’s imposter: JKP
Jammu, Feb 26: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) Monday stated that legal action was initiated against the fraudster impersonating ADGP Jammu zone Anand Jain, on various social media platforms and extorting money from people.
Cautioning people against responding to those fake profiles, the police asked them to report any financial loss or related matter to the nearby police station or cyber cell.
“A fraudster has managed to impersonate ADGP Jammu zone, Anand Jain on various social media platforms using his image, including other credentials and is extorting money from people. The offender has created the profiles with malicious intent. Accordingly, legal action has been initiated as per law,” police said, in a brief official statement.
“It is advised that individuals should refrain from responding to these profiles. Any financial loss or other issues should be reported to the nearest police station or Cyber Cell in the respective districts,” the statement added.
Earlier on January 2, the police had cautioned people against a fake Facebook official account of Zonal Police Headquarters, Jammu, circulating on social media platforms, posing as ADGP Jammu Anand Jain.
While sharing the screenshot of the fake account, the police had asked the people to avoid engaging with any content or messages from the fake account.
