Lavander farmers celebrate Dr Jitendra’s political success

Bhaderwah, June 9: Farmers in Bhaderwah are celebration the induction of Dr Jitendra Singh for the three consecutive time in union council of ministers.

They credit Singh with unparalleled success story of Lavander cultivation that brought in world famous “'Purple Revolution.”

After the victor of Dr Singh from Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency dozens of farmers had gathered to celebrate it. Dozens of progressive farmers who switched to Lavander farming from traditional maize cultivation joined by DDC Vice Chairperson Doda Sangeeta Rani Bhagat had taken out a victory procession at village Seri in the lavender fields.

Jubliant farmers who were seen dancing and distributing sweets said that it's because the farsightedness and vision of Dr Jitendra Singh that they got associated with Union government's Aroma Mission and successfully cultivated exotic Lavander thereby realizing the dream of PM Narinder Modi to double the income of farmers.
