Landslide blocks Thanamandi-DKG road

Rajouri, Jul 23: The Rajouri-Thanamandi-Surankote Road, a vital link between Rajouri and Poonch districts of the Pir Panjal region, was blocked on Wednesday afternoon due to a massive mudslide and landslide at Manyal Gali.

The road, which also connects to the Mughal Road, was rendered impassable after the landslide hit the road.

A vehicle was trapped in the debris, but no loss of life or injuries has been reported.

The authorities are working to restore traffic, which is crucial for connectivity between the two districts, officials said.

Expressing concern over the situation, locals said that frequent landslides and shooting stones on the road were risking the lives and property of people, and the agency engaged for the road project was paying no attention to the situation.
