Landslide affects vehicular movement on DKG road

Rajouri, Jul 18: The movement of vehicles on the Rajouri-Poonch inter-district road, also referred to as Dehra Ki Gali, which connects with the Mughal Road, remained affected for hours on Friday due to a landslide at Sawni near Bufliaz.

Officials said that earlier vehicular movement on this road was suspended in the wee hours on Friday as a precautionary measure amid heavy rainfall, but the movement was allowed later in the morning.

However, a landslide hit the road at Sawni, causing road closure.

“The road remained closed for hours, making people suffer, after which it was restored for the movement of vehicles later in the afternoon,” locals said.
