Ladu Ladoora to Vij Top emerges as favourite spot for trekkers

Baramulla, June 9: Ladu Ladoora is swiftly becoming a sought-after destination for trekking enthusiasts. The trekking route from Ladu Ladoora to Vij Top is a veritable paradise, drawing trekkers eager to experience its natural splendour.

For those who reach Vij Top, it feels like touching paradise. The route traverses mesmerising meadows of Vij Top, the picturesque Vij Top stream, Satarwan, Jabdia Bahak, Rattimiti, and Moladari Top before culminating at Vij Top. Each of these spots offers abundant natural beauty.

At Satarwan, a special fish pond attracts visitors, who also enjoy water boating. The area is also renowned for the shrine of Shah Hamdan (RA) adding a spiritual dimension to the journey.

Continuing on, Jabdia Bahak offers a soothing ambiance. The famous Vij Top Nallah, a glacier stretching several kilometres, remains snow-capped for most of the year. The red soil of Ratti Miti provides a unique visual contrast along the trail.

Upon reaching Moladari Top, trekkers are greeted with breathtaking views, including the magnificent Suaid waterfall, one of the largest in Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir forest department has established camping facilities here, ensuring that trekkers have access to necessary amenities.

Finally, arriving at Vij Top is akin to stepping into paradise. The vast meadows, the expansive blue sky, and the ever-changing weather create a magical atmosphere. From Vij Top, trekkers can view various peaks across the border, including the famous Nanga Parbat and peaks in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Recognising the tourism potential of the area, local authorities have introduced home stay facilities, including Vij Top Home Stay, Vamsi Vij Top Home Stay, and Satarwan Home Stay.

Raja Hussain Khan, a certified tourist guide, has played a pivotal role in promoting Ladu Ladoora as a tourist hotspot. He operates three home stays in the village, equipped with all essentials for trekkers.

The route from Ladu Ladoora to Vij Top is approximately 5 km, making it the shortest and most preferred path. Another route through Hajibal exists but is less favoured.

This season, seven groups of trekkers, including one from Uttar Pradesh and another from Delhi, have visited the area. Local visitors and school groups have also flocked to the region, eager to connect with nature.

Ladu Ladoora to Vij Top is not just a trek, it is a journey through some of the most stunning landscapes Jammu and Kashmir has to offer, making it an unforgettable experience for nature lovers and adventurers alike.
