New Delhi, Nov 24: Noorul Islam, State IEC Consultant with the National Health Mission under Ladakh’s Health and Medical Education Department, has been awarded the Best Health IEC Practice in the Himalayan Region at the National Healthcare & Education Summit & Conference 2025.

The award recognises his notable work in promoting government health schemes, raising awareness about diseases and vaccinations, and ensuring rural communities receive accurate and timely information to fully benefit from public health initiatives.

The ceremony was attended by several prominent national figures, including Dr Jeetu Lal Meena, Joint Director, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Member, Medical Assessment and Rating Board, National Medical Commission; MLA Ravikant Ujjain of Trilokpuri; Dr Sant Kumar Chaudhary, Chairman, Shankara Group of Institutions; Padma Shri Dr Mohsin Wali, Senior Consultant Medicine and Cardiologist at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital; and former ONGC Director Dr Jauhari Lal.

In his acceptance remarks, Noorul Islam dedicated the award to the people of Ladakh. “This award is not just mine — it belongs to every frontline health worker, every community volunteer, and every family in Ladakh who believed in the power of health education,” he said. He added that the recognition will further strengthen NHM’s efforts to expand Information, Education and Communication (IEC) outreach across Ladakh’s remote and challenging terrain.
