Ladakh Subordinate Services Staff Selection Board | Administration notifies rules

Leh, Feb 27: The General Administration Department, Ladakh has notified the “Ladakh Subordinate Services Staff Selection Board Rules, 2024”.

The development comes days after the sub committee members of Ladakh leadership comprising three members each from Ladakh Apex Body (LAB) and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), constituted by the MHA held its meeting with the top officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs at Delhi. The people of Ladakh were demanding the establishment of a PSC and Service Selection Board for early recruitment process of Gazetted and non Gazetted posts in Ladakh. In the recent meeting, the Home ministry had given positive response to the demand .

Meanwhile, the development has been welcomed by the people here.

Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson has welcomed the significant step by the Administration and extended his profound gratitude to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Home Minister, Amit Shah, Lt Governor of Ladakh, Retd Brig Dr BD Mishra, Member Parliament Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, and all the concerned officers of the Administration for their relentless efforts in establishing Ladakh’s own Subordinate Service Staff Selection Board.

Congratulating the people of Ladakh, CEC stated that this step would ensure a uniform and transparent process and procedures for recruiting Groups B and C (Non-Gazetted) of UT/Divisional Cadre categories of posts within the Ladakh Administration in the future.

Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC-Kargil Dr Mohammad Jaffer Akhoon also welcomed the move and termed it as a first step towards establishment of a full fledged recruitment board particularly of having a Public service commission PSC.

Prominent social-political activist and member of Kargil Democratic Alliance Sajjad Hussain Kargili also welcomed the notification by the Ladakh administration.

"For this also Ladakhis were struggling for last four years and finally Ladakh Administration notifies the establishment of Ladakh Subordinate Services Staff Selection Board. More power to ABL — KDA unity," Kargili posted on X.
