Leh, Sep 20: The Information Technology Department of Ladakh successfully hosted the Digital Innovation Summit in Leh under the national initiative “Digital India – Powering Progress with Purpose.” The summit brought together policymakers, technology experts, and industry leaders to explore how digital transformation can strengthen governance, connectivity, and inclusive development in the region.

Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta highlighted Ladakh’s emergence as a digital innovation leader despite its challenging terrain, citing initiatives like online public services, land record digitisation, vehicle tracking systems, and the MedLEaPR medico-legal platform.

He underscored the UT’s commitment to last-mile connectivity, renewable energy projects, and digital infrastructure expansion across all 193 Gram Panchayats and 243 villages.

Keynote speakers, including Chief Secretary Dr Pawan Kotwal, DGP Dr S. D. Singh Jamwal, and Executive Councillor Stanzin Chosphel, emphasised leveraging technology to reach Ladakh’s dispersed population and enhance citizen-centric services. Industry presentations from Cloudera and Airtel Business showcased AI, data, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity applications in governance and public services.

The summit also featured panel discussions on digital public infrastructure, AI and IoT applications, cyber-resilience, and tech-driven innovations in health, education, agriculture, and renewable energy. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Shri Krishna C. Mishra of Elets Technomedia, acknowledging all dignitaries and partners shaping Ladakh’s digital roadmap.
