Kargil, Jan 15: The Haj Committee of the Union Territory of Ladakh attended a two-day training programme in Mumbai and later met senior officials of the Ministry of Minority Affairs and the Haj Committee of India, raising key issues related to medical support, digital access and coordination for Haj pilgrims from the region.

The Haj Committee under the Chairmanship of Mohd Ali Majaz, attended and all the Members of the Committee, namely Haji Nazir Ahmad Saboo, Zaheer Hussain Babar, Mohd Ali Chandan and Mirza Hussain, along with the Assistant Executive Officer, participated in the programme.

After completion of the training programme, the Haj Committee of UT Ladakh held a meeting with Joint Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, Ram Singh and Chief Executive Officer, Haj Committee of India Shahnawas C.

During the meeting, the Committee highlighted several important issues related to Haj arrangements for pilgrims from Ladakh. The Committee requested that doctors and paramedical staff from Ladakh be deputed along with Haj pilgrims from the region to ensure better medical support during the pilgrimage.

The Committee also sought access to the Haj Suvidha App for the State Haj Committee of Ladakh to enable effective coordination and real-time monitoring. The Haj Committee of UT Ladakh also invited the Joint Secretary and the CEO, the Haj Committee of India, to attend the Haj Orientation Programmes proposed to be held at Kargil. The Joint Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, and the CEO, Haj Committee of India, assured the Committee of full support in addressing the issues raised.
