Leh, Oct 17: The Administration of Ladakh has initiated the revision of the Unified Ladakh Building Bye-Laws, 2024, as part of its broader deregulation and business facilitation efforts. The move aims to simplify procedures, reduce compliance burdens, and create a more enabling environment for the tourism sector, small and medium enterprises, and other commercial activities, aligning with Ladakh’s vision of sustainable development and economic growth. The revised bye-laws are expected to come into effect in the last quarter of 2025.

Key proposed reforms include relaxing norms related to ground coverage, setbacks, and Floor Area Ratio (FAR) to accommodate the growing demands of hotels, commercial, and industrial projects. The changes are expected to enhance land utilisation, stimulate investment, and provide greater flexibility to entrepreneurs and builders.
