Lack of public transport service from Sanat Nagar to Rangreth irks commuters

Srinagar, Jul 4: Lack of a dedicated public transport service from Sanat Nagar to Rangreth is causing inconvenience to commuters, including residents.

In the absence of bus or cab service, commuters have to wait for hours at Sanat Nagar Chowk amid a heat wave. “Commuters, especially students, are facing problems due to a lack of dedicated transport services from Sanat Nagar to Rangreth. Some buses and cabs plying from Lal Chowk to Rangreth are mostly full leaving the commuters in distress,” said Abdul Hamid, a commuter.

“It is disheartening to see young students walk to their homes in the absence of a transport facility. This also puts a question mark on the claims of the authorities about augmenting transport services.

“Why cannot authorities start a dedicated e-rickshaw service from Sanat Nagar, Hyderpora, Rawalpora, Alamdar Colony, and Rangreth? We appeal to the Transport Commissioner to look into the issue and direct the concerned officials to augment transport service to these vital but neglected routes,” a commuter said.
