He said that they have to travel from the Shivpora area to Broadway Cinema on the main road to board a bus or e-rickshaw.
"Absence of public transport has made it challenging even for our children to reach schools, workplaces, and healthcare facilities," he said.
Another resident, Aliya Manzoor said that in winter absence of any transport in colonies are creating problems for the local populace.
"We have to travel at least two kms everyday to catch an auto or local bus. Administration should look into this matter and solve this issue as soon as possible, "she said.
Residents urged authorities to intervene and establish reliable transportation services in the area.
Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir Shahnawaz Bukhari told Greater Kashmir that public transport like buses were not possible in the Shivpora stretch. “But e- rickshaws are the viable solution for inaccessible lanes in Srinagar,” he said.
He said e-rickshaws can definitely help people living in the area but still he will look into the matter.
"Public transport is already available on the main road. But there are lanes where e-rickshaws can ply. I have recently talked with the e-rickshaw union and encouraged them to extend their services beyond Lal Chowk," he said.
