Lack of drinking water supply to Batamaloo community hall takes toll on people
Srinagar, Sep 05: Lack of piped drinking water supply to new community hall at Shah Faisal Abad Batamaloo is taking a toll on locals.
Locals said that after much delay, the community hall was completed and made functional recently.
They said however lack of drinking water supply is taking a toll on them. A delegation of locals from the area said that many marriage functions were held at the community hall in past few weeks. They said the lack of proper drinking water supply is creating issues for the families who are organising wedding functions there.
"There have been multiple marriage ceremonies here and those who are organising functions are pestered due to lack of water supply. People have to rely on fetching water from adjacent masjid and it is creating issues for us," an aggrieved said.
The locals said that they have to also rely on water tankers and authorities should ensure proper water supply. The members from local Intizamia committee said "many more functions are in the pipeline and families are worried about shortage of regular water supply,"
The aggrieved families appealed to concerned authorities to ensure water supply to the community hall.
