Lack of central funding cause of delay in daily wagers’ regularisation: Karra
Srinagar, Sep 20: Blaming central government of lowering down this year's budget allocation to J&K instead of normal step up of ayleast ten percent Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Hameed Karra has said that it has complicated daily wagers issue, which is very genuine.
As per a party statement, he said that government had constituted a committee which must have examined the issue. “But he regretted that the centre govt reduced this year's budget allocation instead of normal practice of atleast ten percent step up,if not more, which made things difficult,” said the statement.
Karra was replying to queries by media persons on the issue on the sidelines of a function in Batamaloo area of Srinagar today.
He blamed the central government for delaying the regularisation of daily wagers due to the stepping down of fund allocation whereas allocation is stepped up every financial year, but here the situation is contrary to the norms, with the result the regularisation of daily wagers is also pending, he added.
“Congress party has always raised voice for the regularisation of daily wagers and will continue to fight for their rights,” Karra added and emphasised that Centre should allocate appropriate funds to J&K, so that the issue of regularisation of daily wagers is also addressed at the earliest, he added.
