KVK Bandipora conducts awareness programme on chilli cultivation

Srinagar, Jan 16: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Bandipora conducted an awareness programme on the "Promotion of Chilli Cultivation" under HADP Project Promotion of Niche Crops in UT of Jammu & Kashmir.

A statement said that the objective of the programme was to empower local farmers with knowledge and techniques to enhance chilli cultivation, fostering better yields and sustainable agricultural practices.

Dr Khursheed Ahmad, Scientist Division of Vegetable Science SKUAST-K, gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on Chilli Farming.

Programme Coordinator KVK Bandipora Dr Tariq Sultan emphasised the pivotal role of awareness programmes in bridging the gap between traditional and modern farming practices.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by farmers in cultivation and marketing and expressed optimism that such initiatives would pave the way for a more sustainable and prosperous agricultural landscape in the region.
