KVIB organises awareness camp-cum-interaction programme at ITI Budgam
Budgam, Nov 18: Jammu & Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (J&K KVIB), District Office Budgam organised an Awareness Camp-cum-Interaction Programme at ITI District Budgam.
The event was attended by Principal ITI, Officers/representatives from office of Lead District Manager Budgam, JKRSETI Budgam, Cluster Head J&K Bank Budgam, various rural Bank Branch Heads, representatives from various Blocks and officers from other line departments. The programme was aimed at creating awareness among unemployed educated youth, aspiring entrepreneurs, artisans with a special focus on the passing out students of the institution. The event featured informative sessions and discussions on self-employment opportunities and various schemes viz. PMEGP and JKREGP implemented by the Board, said an official press release.
Speaking on the event, District Officer KVIB Budgam highlighted the Self-employment opportunities in Khadi and village industries sector, financial assistance schemes (PMEGP/JKREGP) and employment generation programs offered by J&K KVIB, Technical training and skill development initiatives, marketing support and linkages for entrepreneurs.
The interactive session enabled direct dialogue between KVIB officials and local participants, addressing queries related to loan applications, project formulation, and accessing government support schemes. On-spot in the programme, many applications from the participants under various activities under JKREGP/PMEGP scheme were received and it was assured to them that the same shall be processed/sponsored as early as possible after prior approval from the DTFC. It was informed that the KVIB is committed to generating employment opportunities in rural and urban areas through promotion of Khadi and village industries, during the year 2024-25 under PMEGP scheme, 498 cases were disbursed involving Margin Money of Rs 1379.92 lakh generating employment to 2988 persons and under JKREGP scheme 15 rural cases stand disbursed involving Margin Money of Rs 48.30 lakh thereby creating employment to 120 rural persons.
