Kupwara’s upper reaches receive fresh snowfall
Kupwara, Nov 4: The upper reaches of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday afternoon received fresh snowfall, causing hardships for the people and bringing extreme chill to the region.
Areas including Sadhna Top in Karnah, Z-Gali Keran, and Farikhan Top Machil recorded several inches of snow, making roads slippery and causing inconvenience to commuters.
An official said that Sadhna Top in Karnah received almost 5 inches of fresh snowfall.
“Despite slippery conditions, traffic movement was not suspended on Keran-Kupwara, Machil-Kupwara, and Karnah-Kupwara roads, although vehicles plying on these roads faced difficulties due to slippery conditions,” he said.
The famous Bangus Valley has also received several inches of snow.
The plains of the district recorded incessant rains throughout the afternoon, throwing normal life out of gear.
The snowfall and incessant rains added to the cold wave across the district.
