Kupwara Police nab drug peddler, recover contraband substance
Kupwara, Oct 08: Continuing its drive against the menace of drug trafficking, Kupwara Police today apprehended a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession at Drugmulla market, officials said.
In a statement, a police spokesperson said that "A police party of Police Post Drugmulla while conducting routine naka checking at Drugmulla market intercepted one individual who attempted to evade the naka point. On being questioned and searched brown sugar-like substance was recovered from his possession."
The accused has been identified as Aamir Mohi-ud-Din Teeli son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Teeli resident of Drugmulla, he added.
The spokesperson further stated that, in this regard, a case FIR No. 324/2025 under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kupwara and further investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source of the contraband and identify other persons involved in the illicit trade.
