Kupwara hosts Inter-District Volleyball Tournament
Kupwara, Sep 6: The Inter-District Provincial Level Volleyball Competition kicked off today at Boys Higher Secondary School Nagri Malpora, inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan.
The week-long tournament features ten teams from across Kashmir Valley, promising a series of thrilling matches until September 14.
The opening ceremony drew a large crowd, highlighting the region's enthusiasm for sports.
In her address, DC Sudan emphasised the crucial role of sports in youth development and urged participants to embody true sportsmanship.
The event aims to elevate Kupwara's sporting profile and set a precedent for future tournaments in the district. Comprehensive arrangements, including medical facilities, refreshments, and transportation, have been made for the players' comfort and convenience.
Participants expressed excitement about competing in Kupwara. A player from Budgam remarked, "I've heard much about Kupwara's natural beauty. It's a privilege to be here for the competition." Another athlete from Srinagar shared his team's optimism, citing their rigorous preparation for the event.
The inaugural ceremony buzzed with energy as players and coaches displayed determination and eagerness to showcase their skills and teamwork. This tournament not only provides a platform for volleyball enthusiasts but also promotes inter-district camaraderie and sportsmanship across Kashmir Valley.
