Cleaning of Dahgam canal sought

Dahgam canal which passes through the heart of Handwara town presents a grim picture as authorities have failed to clean it. "Before 90's the water of this canal was used by people for different purposes but with the passage of time, it lost its sheen and now it has become a dumping site," said Farooq Ahmad, a local from Maqbool Abad Handwara.

The residents have appealed to the concerned authorities to intervene and address the issue forthwith.
