Kupwara admin issues travel advisory for people visiting border areas

Kupwara, Apr 24: The district administration Kupwara Thursday issued an advisory urging all visitors and general public to obtain prior permission before visiting border areas in the district. According to the advisory the administration has said that permission must be sought online at https://epass.kupwara.co.in, intending to visit areas including Karnah, Keran, Machil, and the picturesque Bungus Valley.

“In case of any inconvenience, the public is advised to contact the 24×7 District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, or the Police Control Rooms in Kupwara and Handwara.

The DEOC can be reached at 01955-253522 or via email at deockupwara@gmail.com. Dedicated helpline numbers including 9419268121 and 7006187901 are also available for assistance,” reads the advisory. "All government and private schools are directed to obtain prior approval from the DC Office via the Chief Education Officer before organising tours or picnics to these areas" reads the advisory further.
