Kulgam Police nab two NDPS offenders who evaded arrest for 20 years
Police said the arrests reflect the sustained efforts of Kulgam Police in tracking down long-term absconders involved in NDPS-related offences

Kulgam, Oct 17: Continuing its efforts to bring absconders to justice, Kulgam Police today arrested two individuals who had been evading arrest for twenty years in NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act cases.
In a press statement, a police spokesperson identified the first accused as Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh, son of Gh. Qadir Sheikh, resident of Nassu Badrahgund, who was wanted in FIR No. 107/2005 under Sections 15/18 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Qazigund. He was arrested near J&K Bank, Qazigund, after evading arrest for about 20 years.
The second accused has been identified as Bilal Ahmad Ganie, son of Gh. Nabi Ganie, resident of Lalen Ganoor, Kulgam, presently residing at Levdora near Railway Bridge, Qazigund. He was wanted in FIR No. 223/2006 under Sections 15/18 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Qazigund and had been absconding for around 19 years.

Police said both the accused were evading arrest since long and have now been taken into custody. Their arrest reflects the sustained efforts of Kulgam Police in tracking down long-term absconders involved in NDPS-related offences.
SSP Kulgam, Shri Anayat Choudhary (IPS), while appreciating the teams said that Kulgam Police is committed to bringing all offenders, especially those involved in drug trafficking, to justice. The action against absconders will continue to ensure that no one evades the law.
