KU South Campus hosts Digital Marketing, AI Bootcamp
Srinagar, Mar 24: The South Campus of the University of Kashmir wrapped up a week-long Digital Marketing and AI Bootcamp from March 17 to March 24, 2025, equipping participants with cutting-edge skills in digital marketing and artificial intelligence.
Coordinated by Dr. Irfana Rashid, Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Management Studies, and guided by Prof. Waseem Bari, Director of South Campus, the event was fully funded by the University of Kashmir under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan and Registrar Prof. Naseer Iqbal.
The bootcamp drew a diverse crowd of students, scholars, budding entrepreneurs, and professionals, blending expert-led workshops, hands-on activities, and competitive challenges to ignite innovation. The event kicked off with an inauguration by Dr Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid, Deputy Commissioner of Anantnag, whose keynote address highlighted the critical role of youth in advancing digital transformation.
Over the week, participants dove into interactive sessions led by Nikita Vora, an IIM Ahmedabad alumnus, celebrated digital marketing trainer, and founder of SHELeads India. Covering essentials like social media strategy, SEO, Google Analytics, content creation, team-building, and presentation skills, Vora’s sessions delivered practical insights and real-world examples, making complex topics accessible and engaging.
A key highlight was the inter-group competition, where teams developed and pitched full-scale digital marketing campaigns to a panel of experts: PK Gautam (Founder of MFable), Arif Shah (Product Manager at Ideas2IT), and Dr. Shahnawaz Qadri (Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Sciences). Evaluated on Strategy & Research, Content Creation (posts, landing pages, emails), Ad Strategy & Budgeting, and Presentation & Teamwork, teams took on roles like content writers, graphic designers, and data analysts. Inspired by campaigns like “Share a Coke” and Starbucks, participants presented their strategies, with the top three teams honored at the valedictory ceremony.
Photography captured the event’s lively spirit, chronicling the participants’ creative journey. The competition peaked with team presentations, where feedback from trainers and peers reinforced lessons in teamwork and communication.
The bootcamp closed with a valedictory ceremony, celebrating the winning teams and announcing internship opportunities from Dr. Syeed Fakhruddin Hamid, Nikita Vora, and industry leaders like PK Gautam and Arif Shah. These openings offer participants a bridge to apply their skills in professional settings.
