Srinagar, Jan 24: Dr. Altaf Bhat, faculty at Centre for Interdisciplinary Research and Innovations (CIRI), University of Kashmir (KU), has been awarded around Rs 1.5 crore research grant by the Lady Tata Memorial Trust to study the genomic underpinnings of leukemia.

The grant supports Dr. Bhat’s project to explore the role of chromatin modifiers in regulating 3D genome organization during leukemia. The research aims to uncover new insights and develop efficient therapeutic strategies for the disease.

Vice-Chancellor KU, Prof. Nilofer Khan, congratulated Dr. Bhat on this prestigious achievement. "This grant highlights the university's growing reputation as a hub for high-quality interdisciplinary research. CIRI is evolving into a world-class center, contributing significantly to the academic and research excellence of our institution," she said.
