Srinagar, Aug 3: To promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among young students, encouraging them to explore and develop their innovative ideas, the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), Friday organised an ‘Innovation & Entrepreneurship Outreach Programme’ here at the Kashmir University Model High School.

The programme organised in collaboration with National Innovation Foundation (NIF)-JK Cell was held line with the IIC (Institution’s Innovation Council-AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education ) Calendar.

Coordinator CIIE, Dr Bilal Ahmad Malik, discussed the role of innovation councils in schools and shared insights on how schools can promote a culture of creativity and innovation.

“We need to establish a supportive environment for young innovators and encourage them to explore and develop their innovative ideas,” Dr Bilal said.

He thanked the principal, faculty and students of the Model School for attending the outreach event.

Regional Mentor, Atal Incubation Mission (AIM) and the Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) Schools, Dr Sheikh Javed, elaborated on the various schemes available for schools.

“Educational institutes must provide students with the resources and support needed to develop their innovative ideas,” he said.

Senior Project Associate, National Innovation Foundation (NIF)-JK Cell, Sameer Fayaz, spoke about the INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research)-MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspiration and Knowledge) programmes and other flagship initiatives.

“We have opportunities available for young innovators and the support being provided by various programmes to nurture their talents,” he added.
