KU felicitates former J&K DGP Kuldeep Khoda with citation on Alumni meet
Srinagar, Jul 28: The University of Kashmir (KU) felicitated former Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Kuldeep Khoda with a citation on the Alumni meet-2025 organised by the varsity on Sunday.
As per the citation, 1974 batch officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS), Dr. Khoda's distinguished career was marked by courage, strategic foresight, and unwavering commitment to public service.
"We take immense pride in honouring Kuldeep Khoda, a visionary police leader and one of the most respected officers to have served the Jammu and Kashmir Police," it reads.
Kuldeep Khoda, a distinguished Alumnus of AS college (1966-1970), University of Kashmir, later joined the prestigious IIT Delhi, and subsequently the Indian Police Service (1974 batch).
"He rose to become the Director General of JKP (2007-2012), where he was instrumental in restoring public confidence and normalcy during a critical era of political tension," it reads.
In 2013, Kuldeep Khoda was appointed as the first Chief Vigilance Commissioner of the newly formed Jammu &Kashmir State vigilance Commission, entrusted with upholding integrity and transparency in public life.
"A decorated officer, Khoda's leadership earned him numerous accolades including the President's Police Medal for distinguished Services, Prime Minister's Medal for Excellence in Public Administration and international recognition (Wembley Savvy Award, USA) for launching the proactive Village Defence Committees to combat terrorism," it reads.
"A committed advocate for peace and development, he continues to offer insightful perspectives on security, civic harmony, and institutional reforms in regional and national forums."
"The University of Kashmir is honoured to celebrate Kuldeep Khoda -a visionary who has shaped the safety and integrity of his homeland while representing its values on the world stage," the citation reads.
