KU condoles demise of Prof Ali Muhammad Matta
Srinagar, Aug 5: The University of Kashmir (KU) on Tuesday condoled the demise of Prof Ali Muhammad Matta, former head and senior faculty member of the School of Law, who passed away on Monday.
A statement of KU issued here said that in her condolence message, Vice Chancellor KU, Prof Nilofer Khan, said Prof Matta's contribution to legal education and academic leadership at the university was deeply valued. “He was a committed scholar and a dedicated teacher whose work left a lasting impact on students and colleagues alike,” she said, praying for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family.
A condolence meeting in this regard was held at the varsity’s School of Law, which was chaired by its Dean and Head Prof Shahnaz and attended by Prof Farooq Ahmad Mir, Head and Dean, School of Legal Studies, Central University of Kashmir, faculty members, and other non-teaching staff of the School of Law.
In their remarks, Prof Shahnaz, Prof Farooq Ahmad Mir, and Prof Mushtaq Ahmad Dar highlighted the contribution of Prof Matta to the field of legal education.
They remembered Prof Matta’s dedication to work, passion for knowledge, and commitment to nurturing future generations of legal professionals.
The members prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed their deepest sympathies with the bereaved family.
