KTMF delegation meets DC Srinagar, discusses business issues
Srinagar, Dec 19:: Deputy Commissioner Dr Bilal Mohiudin Bhat held a meeting with trade bodies at Banquet Hall to address various business and infrastructure concerns affecting the city’s commercial areas.
The meeting, attended by representatives from Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) and Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), focused on key issues including the completion of Smart City projects, drainage system upgrades, and development of parking facilities.
Mohammad Yaseen Khan, who heads both KTMF and KEA, highlighted critical infrastructure needs across Downtown and other commercial areas. Feroz Ahmad Baba, President of Traders Association Central Lal Chowk, presented specific concerns affecting the Lal Chowk business community.
The traders’ demands included maintenance of public amenities, enhanced sanitation in marketplaces, proper street lighting, and measures to decongest commercial areas. Dr. Bhat directed concerned departments to resolve these issues within a specified timeframe.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including Additional Deputy Commissioner Syed Ahmad Kataria, Regional Transport Officer Qazi Irfan, and Joint Commissioner SMC Ghulam Jeelani. Trade representatives from Regal Chowk, Hari Singh High Street, Maharaja Bazar, and other major market associations were also present.
