KTA welcomes shift to Nov-Dec academic session
Srinagar, Oct 30: The Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) has welcomed the decision by the Omar Abdullah-led government to revert to the November-December academic session for schools in the region.
In a statement, KTA President Aijaz Shahdhar said the decision was a positive one. “It is a good decision by the Omar Abdullah government. Due to our weather and other factors, the November academic session is more suitable,” he said.
Shahdhar explained that the previous March session was not ideal, as it left children “idle for three winter months” after completing their syllabus early, having to wait until March for annual exams.
“By making this decision, the government has shown it has taken action in response to public demand,” Shahdhar added. He hailed the government’s move, saying it would benefit both students and the broader community.
