Srinagar, Dec 14: The Kashmir Traders Alliance (KTA) has demanded that amnesty be extended to commercial consumers on the pattern of the relief already granted to power domestic consumers, saying traders and small business owners are equally burdened by accumulated dues.

As per a statement issued by the alliance, President KTA Aijaz Shahdhar said that the amnesty announced for domestic consumers has provided much-needed relief and a similar dispensation should be extended to commercial consumers across Kashmir.

“Commercial consumers have faced prolonged hardships, yet they continue to contribute to employment and economic activity. Extending amnesty to them will help stabilise businesses and improve compliance,” Shahdhar said.
